Aang and Katara were two of the main characters that established the entire essence of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Just because she made a bad decision doesn't mean she's not a good character. I get that she had her not so great moments {her jab at Toph's blindness during "the chase" stands out} and she could be moody but she was still a really cool character. There were a number of other ways to protect Katara that didn’t include exposing himself and his friends to even more danger. Especially since Iâve seen other Zutara shippers headcanon Katara or Zuko or both as bisexual for years so itâs not like itâs a âresponseâ to z*kka or whatever. She bullied and insulted their leaders when she didn't get her way. When Sokka and Katara happened upon Aang in the ice in season one they had no idea who or what he was. But Katara has the strength and the will to keep going, even in extremely hopeless situations. I mean, I definitely remember multiple times throughout the series where she roasts Sokka, Aang, and even Toph I think. And we can have differing opinions about whether or not you are one. Sokka and his baby soldiers? I don't understand the hate at all. I mean, Sokka lost his mom too but he doesn't go out of his way to mention it every episode. But there's something to the rebel spirit that we tend to like. She has a lot of people watching her back and has a huge family, including her annoying older brother, Sokka.
